ISMIR 2015 Paper Submission

The regulations for the maximal paper length have changed. Instead of the strict limit of six pages (as used for ISMIR 2014), we adopt a (6+1)-page policy for ISMIR 2015. This means, the paper may have a maximum of six pages for technical content including figures and possible references with one additional optional 7th page containing only references. Note that this is a strict requirement. The seventh page (if used at all) must not contain any other materialexcept for references.

Papers must be formatted according to the following instructions:

  • Submit your paper in PDF format according to one of the following templates: ISMIR 2015 LaTeX and Word Template Packages.

  • Papers may be no longer than (6+1) pages, including all text, figures, and references, and the 7th page may contain ONLY references.

  • Submitted papers must consist of original contributions (not previously published and not currently being considered for publication elsewhere). All relevant related work, including that of the same author, should be cited. The paper should state which are the contributions of the submission with respect to previous work, and if any portion of the submission has appeared elsewhere, the author must clearly indicate this in the text.

  • Submit your formatted paper on https://www.softconf.com/f/ismir2015/ (left column "For Authors", choose "click here to make a new submission").

Accepted papers must be presented at the conference by one of the authors and, at least, one of the authors must register before the deadline given for author registration. Failure to register before the deadline will result in automatic withdrawal of your paper from the conference proceedings and program. While there is no limit to the number of papers that a single author can submit and possibly present, a single regular registration may only cover up to two (2) papers (given that the one who registered is an author of both papers) and a single student registration cover one (1) paper.

About Deadline Extension

There will be no extension to the paper submission deadline (April 27th). However, authors of registered papers on April 27th will be allowed to upload new versions of their papers (in PDF format) until May 4th (23h59 American Samoa timezone). No other changes will be possible (i.e. authors will not be able to change title, abstract, authors, keywords/topics, or other metadata). No submission of new papers will be possible after May 4th.

On The Reviewing Process

In order to ensure the quality of the published papers at the conference, all the submitted papers are evaluated according to the following criteria:

  • novelty

  • scholarly/scientific quality

  • appropriateness of topic

  • importance

  • readability and paper organization

Since ISMIR2008, ISMIR reviews are double blind; that is, authors and reviewers will be anonymous to each other. To ensure this please keep the author list "from" appearing in the text and avoid excessive reference to your own work.

The reviewing workflow follows a two-tier model, i.e. with one level of "regular" reviewers, and another level of "meta-reviewers". All the papers are examined by, at least, three reviewers.
